SCOUTING THE BRONCOS
Western Michigan has one two of its last three contests, coming off a win at home over Ball State in which WMU recorded a season-high 20 assists and 12 makes from beyond the arc and for the first time this season. Over the past three games, the Broncos have averaged 68.7 points per game while shooting 46.2 percent from the field. Leighah-Amori Wool has posted 16.7 points per game along with Deja Wimby averaging 15.3 points while racking up 21 assists in games versus Eastern Michigan, Toledo, and Ball State.

SCOUTING THE CHIPPEWAS
Central Michigan most recently defeated Eastern Michigan 87-60 last Saturday for its sixth consecutive win while securing the MAC West Division title. With the victory and the Miami loss, CMU clinched a first-round bye for the conference tournament. During MAC competition, seniors Reyna Frost and Presley Hudson rank as the second and third leading scorers with 24.7 and 19.7 points per game, respectively. The Chippewas lead the MAC and rank 12th in the nation with 80.0 points per game. They also are the conference leaders with a 48.2 field goal percentage, which is good for ninth-best in the NCAA.

EVERY POSSESSION COUNTS
Seven of WMU's 14 conference games have been decided by four points or less, which is the most in program history since Mid-American Conference competition began during the 1981-82 season. The last time the Broncos had five MAC games decided by four points or less came during the 2008-09 season, as well as the 2004-05 season. The last time a Western Michigan squad had more than five conference games decided by four points or less was in 1995-96, when six games were decided by a four-point margin.

FROM BEYOND THE ARC
Headlined by a stretch Dec. 21 through Jan. 9 in which the Brown & Gold tallied double-digit makes from beyond the arc four games in a row, WMU has recorded 201 three-point field goals (5th/MAC) and is currently seven away from breaking the Western Michigan program record for most three-pointers in a single season. The 1998-98 Broncos hold the record with 207 makes from long-range. Western Michigan is 7-1 this season when recording double-digit three-point field goals made.

WIMBY CLIMBS RECORD BOOK
Senior point guard Deja Wimby continues to move up in the Bronco women's basketball record book. At Ohio (Feb. 16), Wimby tallied eight points to become the 27th Bronco all-time to reach the 1,000 career point mark. She also became the seventh Bronco in program history to have surpassed 1,000 points, 400 assists, and 200 steals in a career. Wimby recently moved into fifth all-time at WMU with 474 assists after a career-high 11 assists versus Ball State (March 2), while ranking and fifth in steals with 226.

WALKER JOINS 1K CLUB
Jasmyn Walker scored 13 points versus Toledo (Jan. 13) to surpass 1,000 points in her career. After totaling 679 points in two seasons at Valparaiso University, Walker has now accumulated 429 points in 47 games played in Brown & Gold.

WALKER SELECTED TO WBCA COACHES PROGRAM
The Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced the class for the 17th annual "So You Want To Be A Coach" program on Jan. 22, with redshirt senior Jasmyn Walker included. Each member will participate in the three-day workshop with speakers provided by WeCOACH on April 3-5 in conjunction with the WBCA Convention in Tampa Bay, Fla. Walker, a business administration major, is one of 60 student-athletes throughout NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, invited to participate in the program. She will follow in the footsteps of former Broncos Breanna Bankston and Carrie Moore, who both went on to become Division I coaches.

CLIPFELL THIRD IN ALL-TIME IN WINS AT WMU
Head Coach Shane Clipfell, who eclipsed the 100-win mark versus Eastern Kentucky (Nov. 28), moved into third place in all-time coaching wins at Western Michigan during the victory over Bowling Green (Jan. 5). His 105th career win in his seventh season at the helm passed Jim Hess' (1982-90) career win total.
