Future Bronco B. Artis White Named Finalist for Michigan Mr. Basketball

KALAMAZOO, Mich. –  On Friday it was announced that Western Michigan men's basketball signee B Artis White has been named one of four finalists for the 2019 Michigan Mr. Basketball award.

Artis White along with forward Chase Barrs are part of the 2019 Bronco basketball recruiting class.

During his senior campaign at Canton High School, Artis White became the second player in school history to eclipse 1,000 career points and is averaging 21.5 points, 5.0 assists, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.

Led by Artis White, Canton heads into the Michigan Division I state tournament with an overall record of 19-1. In the past two seasons, Canton has an overall record of 38-3. Last season, Artis White was named to the All-West Detroit Free Press First Team and was a KLAA Black Division All-Conference selection.

Mr. Basketball is an annual award given to the individual voted by members of BCAM as the top senior player in Michigan. It has been presented annually since 1981 and this year's winner will be announced in a ceremony on March 11 in Detroit.
