KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Three-time Level 10 Junior Olympic regional qualifier
Sarah Moravansky and five-time Level 10 JO national qualifier
Dani Petrousek have signed national letters of intent to compete for Western Michigan University head coach
Penny Jernigan and the Bronco gymnastics program. Moravansky, a native of Frederick, Md., and Petrousek, from Rockford, Ill., will join Western Michigan in the fall of 2020.
"[Assistant coach
Al]
Scharns and I are proud to announce the signing of our 2020 class," Jernigan said. "Sarah and Dani are both strong all-arounders who are passionate about gymnastics and academics. These two are highly motivated to compete as Broncos. We expect them to make immediate impacts in our lineups next season."

Moravansky qualified for the Level 10 JO nationals in 2019 and has been a standout in the classroom. At the 2018 Level 10 regional, she placed 13th in the all-around. At her high school, she received the platinum award for holding a 4.0 unweighted grade-point average as a freshman, sophomore and junior. She is also a member of the National Science Honor Society and National Math Honor Society.
"Sarah's gymnastics is dynamic," Jernigan said. "She's an aggressive competitor. We're especially impressed with her mindset. She's determined to be the very best she can be and attacks challenges head on. Every time I watch her, she's found a way to get better."

Petrousek took second in the all-around at the Illinois Level 10 state championships in 2016 and 2017. From 2015-19, she was a qualifier for the Level 10 JO nationals. During 2018, she took second in the all-around at the Level 10 JO regional championships. She holds Level 10 personal bests of 9.7 in vault, 9.5 in bars, 9.5 in beam and 9.625 in floor.

"Dani is a strong, consistent performer on all four events," added Jernigan. "Her talent, work ethic and competition experience will bring a new level of dependability to our program next season. Coach Scharns and I believe Dani will shine as both a gymnast and a leader on the team next year."
The 2020 Bronco gymnastics squad holds its first meet January 5, hosting Michigan State at 1 p.m. inside University Arena.Â
