CLEVELAND – Five members of the Western Michigan women's soccer team earned Mid-American Conference honors, with senior midfielder Alyssa Burke earning First Team All-MAC.

Junior midfielder Hannah Kahn earned Second Team All-MAC honors, while defender Victoria Kryiakopolous, goalkeeper Hannah Sargent and defender Kai Sugiyama were named to the MAC All-Freshman Team. Only conference stats are considered in the voting by the league's coaches.

Burke lands first team honors for the second time in her career.  The Davison, Mich., native commanded WMU's attack, helping the Broncos finish in third place and average 1.98 goals per game in MAC play. Burk had two goals and five assists for nine points and contributed one game-winning goal.

Kahn earns All-MAC honors for the first time in her career. The pacey winger had three goals and two assists for seven points in 10 conference games this season. Kahn had a goal in a 2-1 win over Miami and then a career day at Kent State with a goal and two assists.

Kryiakopolous started in all 11 games in conference play, netting a goal and helping produce two shutouts. Her first collegiate goal came as an overtime-winner in a 1-0 win over Akron. Sargent started and played every minute in goal for the Broncos, finishing MAC play with a 7-3-0 record. She made 53 saves and earned two shutouts. Sugiyama contributed to both the attack and the defense from her outside back position. Sugiyama also started in all 11 games and helped push the pace of the game by getting forward and joining the attack. With her speed on the wing she was also able to get back and shut down the opposing attack on the wing.

WMU's trio on the MAC All-Freshman team is a program best, surpassing the selections of Amy Letzgus and WMU Hall of Famer Chantal Robinson in 2003.

The Broncos battle Ball State on Friday at 4 p.m. at Bowling Green in the MAC Tournament Semifinals.
