KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Eight members of the Western Michigan hockey team will spend time this summer at development camps hosted by National Hockey League franchises.
Senior captain Scott Moldenhauer heads to Anaheim to camp with the Ducks, while fellow senior Aidan Muir heads back to Edmonton to train with the other Oilers draft picks and prospects. Junior Colt Conrad and sophomore Hugh McGing both head to New York. Conrad, who had a career-high 29 points last season, camps with the Rangers, while McGing, who is fresh off a 22-point freshman campaign, heads to the Islanders.
Two Broncos are headed to Philadelphia. Flyers' second-round pick Wade Allison and sophomore defenseman Cam Lee camp in the City of Brotherly Love. Both are coming off stellar freshmen seasons. Allison was the top-scoring rookie on the team with 29 points on 12 goals and 17 assists. Lee finished with 14 points on two goals and 12 assists, playing in 38 games.
Fellow sophomore Lawton Courtnall will continue his development with the Columbus Blue Jackets this summer, while incoming freshman Austin Rueschoff, fresh off of a 17-goal season in the USHL, will head to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
