KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Grant Miller, a junior on the Western Michigan baseball team, was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) West Co-Position Player of the Week along with Toledo's Matt Hansen.
Miller is the first Bronco to win the award this season and this is his first career award. Junior LHP Keegan Akin won MAC West Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 22.
Miller was on a tear against Miami this past weekend, leading the Broncos to their third straight MAC series win. Over the weekend, he led the team in doubles (2), total bases (11), slugging percentage (1.000) and on-base percentage (.667) while tying for the team lead in triples (1) and runs (3). He had multiple hits in all three games this past weekend. Miller has a hit in 12 of his last 13 games and had a 19-game hitting streak snapped earlier this season, which is fourth highest in school history.
