KALAMAZOO, Mich.- A record-number 14 members of the Western Michigan hockey team were invited to participate in NHL development camps this summer. NCAA student-athletes participating in these camps do not have their eligibility affected.
Development camps give team draft picks and invitees the chance to experience an NHL camp with team staff on and off the ice. Prospect development camps aren't just beneficial to the player, as they also give front office members a chance to scout and evaluate player talent, allowing young prospects to embed themselves on NHL radars.
