KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan gymnastics team held its annual end of the year banquet May 1, in the Brown & Gold room at the Bernhard Center on campus. Team award winners were announced, as well as individuals who earned conference recognition through out the 2015 season.
WMU Individual Event MVPs Selected by the WMU coaching staff. These awards are based on both the total number of points earned for the team during the regular season and consistency of performances throughout the season.
Vault MVP = Kelsey Hood (freshman) Hit 100% of her vaults this season.
Her scores counted for the team in all 11 regular season meets.
Contributed the most total points in our vault line up with 97.85
Uneven Bars MVP = Jessie Peszek (sophomore) Hit 100% of her bar routines during the regular season.
Bars scores counted for the team in all 11 regular season meets
Contributed an impressive 98.075 points to the team on bars and qualified to the 2015 NCAA Regional championships on this event
Balance Beam MVP = Anna Corbett (sophomore) Contributed 96.90 points on beam this season.
And while competing in the most difficult position as our lead off in every meet, she hit every balance beam routine she competed this year.
Floor Exercise MVP = Audry Merritt (sophomore) Contributed the most points on floor exercise this season with 98.00.
She also hit all 11 of her FX routines and her scores counted for the team score in every competition.
She was our most consistent performer.

WMU Freshman of the Year Award Selected by the coaching staff. Awarded to the most-outstanding newcomer of the year.
Kelsey Hood Competed all-around in every meet this season. 10 meets, 40 routines in an 8 week time period.
Earned a total of 386.875 points
Achieved the third highest all-around score in school history with a 39.20.
All-MAC second team selection - all-around
Qualified to NCAA regionals in the all-around.
WMU Gymnast of the Year Award Selected by the coaching staff. Awarded to the most-outstanding gymnast of the year.
Anna Corbett (sophomore)
Competed all-around in every meet this season including the NCAA regional championships in Columbus, Ohio. 11 meets, 44 routines in 10 weeks.
She accumulated 425.825 total points.

Kelsey Hood All-MAC First Team regular season -
Jessi Buis - entered the MAC championships week ranked in first place on vault with a 9.855 RQS and a 9.80 season average. She won vault titles in four of the five MAC dual meets she competed in and took third in the other. This is her second All-MAC team selection in two years.
All-MAC Second Team regular season -
Jessie Peszek 9.820 RQS and a 9.803 season average on the uneven bars. She won bars titles in seven meets this season and finished third at the MAC Championships.

Kelsey Hood - competed in the all-around for WMU in every meet this season. Entering the MAC championships, she was the ranked second in the conference as an all-rounder w/ a 38.935 RQS.

All-MAC Academic Team - The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
