Head Coach Andy Murray
On Frank Slubowski's performance...
"I think we've seen
Frank better. I think he is an honest player and would say the exact same
thing."
On performance in the first...
"We didn't like the
two goals we gave up. We gave up a couple of great transition opportunities. I
really liked the effort in the game tonight. I don't think the shot totals were
a reflection of how the game was played. I think it was a good game, and they
were certainly better on their power play. We need to be better. I think there
were a couple things with the referees that were not as good as they need to
be, just like how I need to be a better coach. It was a bit of a tough penalty for
us to take by LaPorte, but that was the call. It's a battle but we're going to be
here tomorrow night as well."
On UM performance at this point in the season...
"I think it's the same
type of team. I think there were some similarities in the game, and they are a good
team. I thought they were a good team last time they were here."
Junior Forward Chase Balisy
On the game overall...
"They came out with a good start. We had some chances early on
but we couldn't capitalize. We battled back, but we've got to stay out of the box
and score some goals."
On not being able to finish shots...
"I think it's frustrating.
We're doing the right things though. We've just got to keep going to the net. We
have to capitalize on those chances."
On tallying a loss...
"A loss is a loss. We
have to come back tomorrow. It's a three game series and they only have one."
Junior Defenseman Danny DeKeyser
On tonight's loss...
"It's a tough loss for
us obviously. We only thing we can do about it is bounce back tomorrow, and come
out harder. We came out as hard as we could."
On Saturday performances...
"The only thing we can
do is win tomorrow. Our season is pretty much on the line right now, that should
be motivation enough."
On UM out-shooting almost 2 to 1...
"We gave them a few too
many scoring chances. It's tough to win games when you let the other team score
four goals. They were putting a lot of pucks on net. We just have to drive to the
net hard and clear rebounds tomorrow."
