Hampton Slukynsky Earns Contract with Los Angeles Kings

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The LA Kings have signed goaltender Hampton Slukynsky to a three-year entry-level contract through the 2028-29 season.

Slukynsky ends his career as the best goaltender in program history, leading all Broncos in goals against average, save percentage and winning percentage. He is also top five in shutouts. Additionally, he helped WMU win its first ever National Championship, Penrose Cup and NCHC Frozen Faceoff title. 

The Warroad, Minn. native was 46-16-2 with a 2.14 GAA and .918 save percentage during his two years in Kalamazoo. To go along with that, he added five shutouts and three assists. 

The young netminder was on top of his game in 2025-26, breaking the program's single-season record for wins (27). He capped off his final season in the Brown and Gold with a 2.30 GAA and .915 save percentage. He had four shutouts and two assists to help him earn Second Team All-NCHC honors. 

His freshman season was just as good, as he collected 19 wins, a 1.90 GAA and a .922 save percentage His GAA led the NCHC and was a single-season program record. Along with that, he was a CHN All-Rookie Team honoree, an NCHC All-Rookie Team selection, and he was part of the Frozen Four All-Tournament Team. 

Slukynsky didn't just play well for the Broncos, as he was also a two-time gold medalist in 2024-25 winning with the U.S. Men's National Team and with Team USA at the World Junior Championships. 

He caps his career as a two-time All-NCHC selection and five-time NCHC Goaltender of the Week. Finally, he led the NCAA in wins and was a Hobey Baker nominee during his final season.  

"I am super grateful to have spent two years at Western playing in front of the best fans in college hockey," Slukynsky said. "I will remember the memories I have made forever. These have been the best two years of my life, and I will forever be grateful for Western Michigan."
