Carter Named Second Team All-MAC

KALAMAZOO, Mich.- Western Michigan senior gymnast Cepeda Carter was named Second Team All-Mid-American Conference.

Carter tallied a career-high 38.975 in the all-around, placing third, at the MAC Championships this past Saturday, March 24. Her previous high as an all-arounder was 38.875.

Carter also had a pair of top-10 event finishes at the conference meet, placing seventh on balance beam and eighth on the uneven bars, scoring a 9.750 in both.

Saturday marked the second time in her career Carter had a podium finish at the MAC Championships, also placing fourth on vault in 2010.

Carter set three other career highs this season, recording a 9.800 on bars, a 9.825 on balance beam and a 9.800 in the floor exercise.
