KALAMAZOO, Mich.- The Western Michigan men's tennis fell to a pair of ranked opponents this past weekend, falling to No. 67 Northwestern Friday, 4-3, and No. 64 DePaul Saturday, 5-2.

DePaul swept doubles and won four of the six singles matches. Posting wins for WMU was Pablo Olivarez at No. 2 singles (7-5, 6-7 (6), 7-5) and Ross VanderPloeg (7-5, 4-6, 6-1),

Western Michigan won the doubles point against Northwestern, but the Wildcats took four of six singles matches. VanderPloeg was a part of two victories, teaming up with Brad Noel to win at No. 3 doubles, 8-1, and winning and No. 5 singles, 7-5, 6-4. Casey Cullen and Olivarez won at No. 2 doubles, 8-5, and Michael Calderone won at No. 1 singles, 7-5, 7-5.
