WMU at Miami Post-Game Notes

PRE-GAME

• Western Michigan trails the all-time series, 38-81, against Miami
• The Broncos are looking for their fi rst win at Millett Hall since Feb. 4, 1989 (81-79) and are 5-51 on the road against Miami
• Western Michigan is looking for its first road win of the 2010-11 Mid-American Conference season
• Western Michigan three players score over 20 points in a game for the first time this season when Juwan Howard Jr., Demetrius Ward and Flenard Whitfi eld each scored 21 points apiece against Buffalo
• Whitfield's 21 points were a career high and the first time in his career he scored over 20 points in a game
• Western Michigan coaches and staff will participate in Coaches vs. Cancer on Jan. 29 by wearing suits and sneakers during the game

• Miami opened game 8-for-11 from field, including 5-for-6 from three
• WMU used an 8-1 run to cut deficit down to 10 (25-15)
• Muhammed Conteh matches career high with six points in the first half
• Demetrius Ward led WMU with eight points
• WMU converted six Miami turnovers into eight points

SECOND HALF

• Ward scores in double figures for the 14th time this season, a team best
• This is Ward's fifth-straight game in double figures, a season high
• Conteh establishes new career high with eight points
• Conteh scores 10 points for first time in career
• WMU uses 20-6 run to pull within one point on Mike Douglas' runner at the 7:30 mark - smallest deficit since Miami led 1-0
• Ward matches career high with 21
• WMU plays in third OT game of the season

OVERTIME

• WMU has five scorers in double figures (Ward, Conteh, Douglas, Stainbrook, Howard) for the third time this year
