Pregame

• This is the 16th meeting all-time between the two schools, with WMU holding a 10-5 edge in the series. 
• WMU is 4-2 all-time against Buffalo at home.
• Steve Hawkins is 5-4 against the Bulls. 
• WMU is seeking it's 8th straight win at University Arena.
• Nate Hutcheson has led the Broncos in rebounding in each of the last three games. 
• This is the first game for WMU against the MAC East this season and marks the beginning of a six-game stretch against East Division opponents. 
• The Bulls carry a three-game winning streak in MAC play into tonight's contest. 

First Half

• WMU connects on it first three three-point attempts. 
• Whitfield becomes first Bronco in double figures. It is the 12th time Whitfield has scored in double digits, and the fourth game in a row he has accomplished the feat.
• Howard becomes the second Bronco to score in double figures with his seventh such effort of the season.
• WMU is 7-2 when leading at the half. 

Second Half

• Ward is the third Bronco in double figures. This is 17th time in 19 games WMU has had at least three score in double figures and the fourth game in row Ward has reached double digits. Ward now has 13 double digit scoring efforts this season.
• This is the fourth game in a row Whitfield has scored over 15 points.
• New career-high in scoring for Whitfield and first career game with 20 or more points. Ties career-high in made free throws. 
• Ward with new career-high's in field goals made and attempted.
• Howard ties career-high in free throws attempted.
• This is the second time this season WMU has had two players score 20 or more points in the same game (Whitfield and Howard). This is Howard's third 20-point game this season.

Post-game

• The Broncos seven-game winning streak at University Arena is snapped.
• The Bulls now have a four-game winning streak in MAC play.
• Ward, Whitfield and Howard each score over 20 points for the Broncos. This is the first time WMU has had three players score 20 or more points in a game this season. 
• Career-high 21 points for Whitfield. Also a career-high 14 free throw attempts for Whitfield.  
• Ward ties career-high for third time with 21-point game. Also a career-high eight made field goals in a career-high 16 attempts for Ward.
