NORMAL, Ill. -- The Western Michigan volleyball team swept Oakland, 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 25-22), in the first match of the Redbird Classic at Redbird Arena on the campus of Illinois State.

Michelle Moore led the Broncos with 11 kills and Katie Eberling was one kill away from a double-double with nine kills and 11 digs. Moore now has 990 kills in her career for the Broncos (3-0), who have swept every opponent so far in the 2008 season.

Jaime Gotham and Ashley Vogl had nine kills each, with Gotham leading the team with four block-assists on the night.

Western Michigan will face Western Carolina at 11 a.m. on Saturday and will play the host Redbirds at 8 p.m. later that night.
