NU used a pair of southpaws to baffle the Bronco hitters. Starter Charley Bashara (1-0) got the win, pitching six innings and yielding only six hits. Bobby Carrington closed out the game with three hitless innings, earning the save.
Joe Sheets, Chris Lewis, Kyle Galbraith and Mosher joined Simotes and Abro, recording a hit.
"The two left hand pitchers did a very good job," WMU head caoch
Randy Ford said. "The pitcher yesterday I thought was very difficult to figure out but today our hitters were not aggressive enough at the plate letting too many fast balls go by."
Western Michigan will look for its sixth win in Florida tomorrow, taking the field against IPFW at 3 p.m.
