KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan baseball team and head coach
Billy Gernon have announced the signing of transfer right-handed pitcher Brendan Campbell. Campbell joins 15 student-athletes already signed to the program who are slated to arrive at WMU in the fall of 2026 and begin suiting up for the Broncos for the 2027 season.
Campbell heads to Western Michigan after starting 10 games on the mound in two seasons at Elgin Community College. Over the course of his time with the Spartans, he earned five wins and struck out a batter per inning, fanning 38 in 38.0 innings of work. He was strong in the classroom as well, earning a spot on Elgin's Honor Roll.
The 6-4 righty played his high school ball for coach Christopher Baum at Bartlett High School, where he was a two-time All-Conference and All-Area selection. He also earned a Daily Herald Player of the Week award and was a three-time Academic All-Conference honoree.
