Western Michigan center Joe Reitz
(On scoring 25 points) "I thought I did a good job once I got the ball inside of taking advantage of my opportunities. I have to give credits to my guards though for getting the ball into me."
(On positives the Broncos can take from this game) "I think we can draw on the fact that we played really hard. We fought all the way back from 16 points down and took the lead the overtime. If we didn't have defensive lapses and missed rebounds in the first half we wouldn't have been in that position. We've got to learn that we can't just bring it in the second half. We've got to bring it for the full 40 minutes."
Western Michigan head coach Steve Hawkins
(On the game) "I liked our kids fight. I liked the resilience. We've been coming to Calihan Hall for a while and we haven't played too many close games. If they give this kind of physical effort, you can't ask for much more."
(On Joe Reitz' game) "They didn't double team him. They continued with single coverage and we feel like if Joe is in single coverage and we get him the ball, Joe is comfortable taking his man."
(On falling behind early) "We weren't as aggressive as we needed to be defensively when they made that run (in the first half). We got more aggressive defensively and that led to the comeback."
