Western Michigan (3-4) never trailed, using a 10-2 run in the first half to open a 12-point cushion (43-31) at halftime.  WMU's biggest lead of the night occurred with 3:57 left in the second half when Shaylen Jackson converted on a pair of three throws to put the Broncos up by 26 points, 84-58.

“Overall, I feel proud of this group and how they have improved,” said coach Ron Stewart, who went six-deep into his bench.  “Collectively we did a nice job inside.  We got to the line and defended well.”

WMU's victory was the first in four meetings against NU.  The Wildcats (3-5) brought in an all-time record of 32-9 against Mid-American Conference schools.
