KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's soccer team will close its non-conference slate on Sunday afternoon at Xavier. The Broncos and Musketeers will hit the field at 1 p.m. at Corcoran Field.
LAST TIME OUT
Western Michigan earned a draw at Detroit Mercy back on Sept. 6, with neither team finding the back of the net in the 0-0 game.
Reagan Sulaver and
Kate Sheridan combined to blank the Titans in Detroit. The duo made three saves in the game to help WMU move to 2-1-3 on the season.
DEFENSE LEADS THE WAY
The Broncos have proven to be a strong defensive unit so far in 2026, holding opponents to under a goal per game.
Only Illinois has scored more than one goal against the Brown and Gold, and WMU has earned shutouts in three of its last four matches.
Reagan Sulaver has started five games in net, while
Kate Sheridan has played in two matches. Sheridan has not allowed a goal and is 1-0-0 on the season. Sulaver enters Sunday's match with a 1.06 goals against average and .773 save percentage.
As a unit, Western Michigan has a 0.83 GAA, .815 save percentage and 22 total saves.
A HELPING HAND
The Brown and Gold have been unselfish with the ball through six games this season, as six players have recorded at least one assist.
Meredith Vance is tied for the MAC lead in helpers this season, as she has dished out two assists in six games. Though she hasn't scored this season, she also has the ability to find the back of the net. She is WMU's returning leader in goals, scoring five times in 2025.
SCOUTING THE MUSKETEERS
Xavier is off to a 3-2-0 start in 2026, securing wins against Miami (OH), Indiana and Dayton. Both of the losses have come to top-five teams in Michigan State and Vanderbilt.
The Broncos will square off with the Musketeers for the first time in program history on Sunday afternoon.
Peyton Kohls and Brooklyn O'Brien have paced the squad on offense so far this season. Kohls has two goals and three assists, while O'Brien has found the back of the net three times in five games.
In net, Taylor Thomas has started three games, while Sami Lipcon has started twice. Thomas holds a 1-1-0 record, 2.05 goals against average and .688 save percentage. Lipcon enters the match with a 2-1-0 record, 1.24 GAA and .800 save percentage. The Musketeers have two shutouts so far this season.
