KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan track and field team will conclude its outdoor regular season this weekend, competing at the Gary Wieneke Memorial and Jesse Owens Classic. Both meets are schedule to run from May 1-2. 

TOP-10 PERFORMERS
The Broncos were on top of their game last weekend, securing seven top-10 marks across a variety of events. The 3K steeplechase had three new times, as Ava Kurczewski moved to second, Lily Overton elevated to fourth and Madison Zarembski vaulted to seventh. 

Outside of that, Lillian Zelasko was great in the 5K. She moved up to third in program history. Soniya Jones and Katie Nichols added to the great weekend, moving to sixth in both the 200 and javelin, respectively. To close things out, Emma Henkel cracked the 800 record book. She now sits at 10th all-time. 

AMONG THE NATION'S BEST
The Broncos have a pair of event groups that rank top-50 in the nation. The 3K steeplechase group has been on fire all season long, ranking eighth in the nation with an average time of 10:41.15. The top four performers for the Brown and Gold have been Ava Kurczewski, Lily Overton, Madison Zarembski and Kaelin Hughes. 

Along with the steeple group, the long jump crew has been just as good. The quartet of Sandra Ferrari, Laurine Elisa Marimon, Anichka Malachi and Layla Wallace is up to 42nd in the nation. They have a team average of 5.82 meters.
