LAST TIME OUT
The Broncos are coming off of a heartbreaking 69-67 loss to undefeated #21 Miami on Friday night. Western Michigan held the lead for a large portion of the second half, but the RedHawks moved back ahead in the final minutes. Justice Williams tied the game at 67-67 with 12.8 seconds to go, but Miami's Trey Perry came down and made the game-winning layup with 0.4 seconds on the clock to win it for the visitors. Jayden Brewer paced the Brown and Gold with 19 points and 11 rebounds to collect his second consecutive double-double, while Williams and EJ Ryans tallied 14 points apiece.

CLEANING THE GLASS
Western Michigan had one of its best showings on the glass in MAC play on Friday, outrebounding Miami 39-28 for the evening, including a 10-4 edge on the offensive boards. It was a team effort for the Broncos, with five different players grabbing four or more rebounds and Jayden Brewer leading the way with 11 for his eighth double-digit rebounding game of the season. Always a strong suit under head coach Dwayne Stephens, WMU ranks fourth in the conference in overall rebounding at 36.4 per game, led by Brewer, who is ninth in the MAC at 6.8 per contest. In league play, the Broncos are third in total rebounds (35.4) and tied for second on the offensive glass (11.3).

DOUBLE TROUBLE
Jayden Brewer tallied 19 points and 11 rebounds on Friday night against Miami for his second consecutive double-double. For the season, the senior leads Western Michigan in double-digit scoring performances (18), double-digit rebounding games (8) and double-doubles (7). Brewer's 11 rebounds on Friday night moved his season average to a team-leading 6.8 per game, the ninth-highest mark in the conference.

BALANCED BRONCOS
Western Michigan has featured a balanced attack all season long, with 12 of 14 players having scored in double-figures at least once and five having posted at least one game with 20 or more points. Jayden Brewer has led the charge for WMU with 18 double-digit scoring performances. Six different players have been the top scorer in a game this season, led by Brewer, who has paced the Broncos in scoring nine times.

A total of 10 different players have scored in double-figures in a game off of the Bronco bench, with Jayden Brewer, Jalen Griffith, Brady Swartz (twice) and Justice Williams all having posted a 20-plus point scoring performance off of the bench this season.

The Cardinals came away with a 77-67 victory in their last visit to Kalamazoo, back on Feb. 3, 2024.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
