KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team returns home to host Northern Illinois on Thursday and UIC on Saturday at West Hills Athletic Club.

LAST WEEK
WMU (8-8, 1-1 MAC) opened Mid-American Conference play on the road at Buffalo and Toledo last weekend. The Broncos fell to the Bulls, 6-1, on Friday but rebounded for a win on Sunday, 5-2, against the Rockets.Â
Junior
Ashton Adesoro went 2-0 on the weekend at No. 1 singles. WMU took the doubles point and four singles points in the win over the Huskies.Â
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Northern Illinois heads into Thursday's match with an 10-3 record and 1-0 in MAC play after beating UIC 5-2 last Saturday. Three on NIU's wins have come on the road.Â
Senior Iker Gaztambide Arrastia is the reigning MAC Singles Player of the week. Last week he upset No. 23 Kenta Miyoshi in the team's loss to Illinois. He also earned a win over UIC's No. 1 singles player.Â
SCOUTING THE FLAMES
UIC is 6-5 on the season and 0-1 in MAC play after the loss to the Huskies. The Flames head to Ball State on Thursday before making the trip to Kalamazoo on Saturday. UIC has been good on the road this season, going 5-2.Â
Junior Artem Alekseychuk and sophomore Eldin Nokic both have six singles wins on the season, with Alekseychuk holding down the No. 1 spot. Nokic and Henrique Sa make up the team's top doubles pair with a 7-2 record so far.Â
DYNAMIC DUO
WMU doubles pair sophomores
Oscar Corwin and
Alex Antonopoulos reunited in Sunday's 5-2 win over Toledo, helping the Broncos earn the doubles point. The duo leads the Broncos with 15 doubles wins, a 15-4 record overall and an 8-3 record in dual matches.Â
Corwin and Antonopoulos entered the Spring Season ranked 80th in the nation by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.Â
ON THE HORIZON
Western Michigan is back on the road next Friday at Ball State for a 1 p.m. first serve. WMU returns home on Thursday, March 26 to host Buffalo at 1 p.m.Â
