KALAMAZOO, Mich. – After picking up five points at Colorado College this weekend, the Western Michigan hockey team was able to retain its spot in the national polls.
The Broncos remained at No. 4 in both the USCHO and USA Hockey rankings. Michigan State, Michigan, North Dakota, WMU and Penn State were the top five in both polls this week.
In the NCHC, the Brown and Gold were joined by UND, Denver and Minnesota Duluth. Miami and St. Cloud State were receiving votes. Colorado College, Arizona State and Omaha did not receive any recognition in the polls this week.
WMU will compete for the Penrose Cup this weekend against North Dakota. The Broncos and Fighting Hawks will open play on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7 PM at Lawson Arena. For tickets, visit
