KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Mid-American Conference announced its weekly women's soccer awards, with
Mira Pierre-Webster earning the league's Defensive Player of the Week honor.
Pierre-Webster and the WMU defense were on top of their game, collecting two shutouts on the week to improve to 7-2-1 overall and 3-0-1 in MAC play. Against Ohio, Pierre-Webster and the Broncos limited the Bobcats to just two shots on goal.
The defending MAC champions followed that up with another shutout against Toledo, limiting the Rockets to seven shots on net. She played the full 90 minutes in each match. Western Michigan has allowed just nine goals this season.
Pierre-Webster and the Broncos will be back in action on Thursday at home against UMass. The game is set for 4 PM at the WMU Soccer Complex.
