David Anderton Named WMU Men's Tennis Associate Head Coach

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Western Michigan men's tennis head coach Dave Morin has announced the hiring of David Anderton to the position of associate head coach.

Anderton has a long career in coaching both men's and women's tennis. Most recently he was an assistant coach for the University of Miami's women's tennis team. It was Anderton's second stint with the Hurricanes, working as an assistant from 2003-07 and helping the team to finish in the Top 25 every season. Megan Bradley (2005) and Audra Cohen (2006, 2007) won ACC Player of the Year during his tenure.

Anderton has also spent time as an assistant with Alabama's women's team and was an assistant for both the WMU Men's and women's programs from 1998-99, helping both programs to a MAC Championship in 1999.

"David and I go way back as he played for some of my early teams at Bowling Green State University,  and then was our assistant coach at WMU when we won our first MAC title in 1999," said Morin. "He has a wealth of experience and has had tremendous success  at the highest levels of D 1 tennis, and we're fortunate to have his skill set impacting our players and our program."

Anderton played men's tennis at Bowling Green under Morin, earning a degree in psychology in 1998.
