Tim Washe Named CSC Academic All-American

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan graduate student forward Tim Washe was named a Third Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators, which was announced this afternoon.

Washe graduated from Western Michigan last spring and began a graduate degree in the fall. He maintained a 3.75 GPA in Business Administration throughout the 2024-25 season. The Clarkston, Mich. native was also an All-American Scholar and NCHC Distinguished Scholar Athlete this season.

On the ice, Washe captained the Broncos to their best season in program history. WMU won the National Championship, Penrose Cup and NCHC Frozen Faceoff title. The Brown and Gold ended the year with a program-best 34-7-1 overall record.

The bruising forward led the NCAA in faceoff winning percentage, posting a 63.1 percent win rate. He's been at 60 percent or higher each of the last three seasons. Outside of that, Washe concluded the 2024-25 campaign with 38 points on 16 goals and 22 assists. His eight game-winning goals were a single-season program record.

With those strong numbers, he was named the NCHC's Defensive Forward of the Year. Following the season, he was named the team's Most Valuable Player.

Washe played 171 career games for the Broncos, which is a program record. In those games, he was able to produce 74 points on 28 goals and 46 assists. He was +19 and won nearly 60 percent of his faceoffs.

The WMU captain signed an entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks following the season and made his NHL debut against the Minnesota Wild on April 15. He played in two games to end the regular season.
