WMU Athletics Announces Ticket Sales Plan for Historic Outdoor Hockey Game at Waldo Stadium

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Western Michigan University Athletics has announced the official ticket sales plan and Priority Access Window schedule for the highly anticipated outdoor hockey game between Western Michigan and University of Michigan at Waldo Stadium on January 30, 2027.

The outdoor hockey game will serve as a celebration of Western Michigan University, the City of Kalamazoo, and college hockey, bringing two of the sport's premier programs outdoors for a historic moment for Bronco Hockey.

Priority Access Window Sales Model
Due to the anticipated demand surrounding the event, WMU Athletics will utilize a Priority Access Window sales model to provide eligible supporters with early access to purchase tickets before they become available to the general public.

Priority Access Windows are designed to reward: The Priority Access process will officially begin on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Bronco Athletic Fund members will be the first group to select seats, based on Giving Levels. Priority Access Windows will begin with the Mike Gary Society, followed by Beauregard members and so on. Members have until Tuesday, June 9, 2026, to lock in their Giving Levels to secure their spot in a Priority Access Window. Fans wishing to improve their Priority Access Window by making an additional Bronco Athletic Fund contribution should do so prior to the June 9 deadline. Fans can also join the Bronco Athletic Fund with memberships starting at just $50. Gifts can be made online HERE.

Additionally, hockey and football season ticket holders who have not yet renewed their season tickets for the upcoming season are encouraged to renew before June 8 to ensure eligibility within the Priority Access process.

How Priority Access Windows Will Work
In order to reward the most loyal supporters of the Broncos, WMU Athletics will gradually expand access through a series of Priority Access Windows.

Each eligible group will receive a designated date and start time to begin selecting seats during their assigned Priority Access Window. Once a Priority Access Window opens, that group will continue to have access to purchase tickets through the beginning of General Public On-Sale.

As additional Priority Access Windows open the buyer pool will gradually expand to include more groups while still maintaining access for all previously opened windows. This structure is intended to:
  • Reward loyal supporters and donors with earlier access
  • Help provide a smoother and more manageable purchasing experience
  • Allow fans to better review seating options and pricing before making a purchase decision
Fans eligible for a Priority Access Window will receive:
  • An email notification announcing their window is officially open
  • Seat selection and buying instructions
  • All communications will be sent to the email address associated with the customer's WMU Athletics ticket account.
