BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Three Western Michigan golfers sit in the top 15 after the first round of the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational at Stone Ridge Golf Club on Saturday.
Freshman
Lauren Lupinek is tied for eighth after shooting a 75 (+4). Sophomore
Bella Brooks and junior
Megha Vallabhaneni are both tied for 13th after each shooting a 76 (+5). Ally Barth is just a stroke back and tied for 19th, placing four of WMU's top five all within two strokes of each other. Freshman
Saanvi Venkatesh was the Broncos' fifth finisher with an 83 (+12)
The Broncos combined to shoot a 304 (+20), sitting just a stroke behind third-place Central Michigan and five behind second-place Oakland. The host Falcons lead the tournament after shooting a 292 (+8).
WMU closes out the final round of the tournament on Sunday.
