Vallabhaneni Turns in Top-20 Finish at Season Finale in the MAC Championship

MUNCIE, Ind. -- The Western Michigan golf season came to an end as the Broncos finished off the Mid-American Conference Tournament, hosted by Ball State, at the Delaware Country Club on Tuesday. 

WMU had its best round of the tournament, shooting a 308 (+20) on the final day to finish with a 938 (+74) and finish in 10th place. Kent State repeated as champions, while BSU's Jamie Driscoll was the individual medalist. 

For the third time in her career, junior Megha Vallabhaneni was WMU's top finisher at the MAC Championships, tying for 18th with a 229 (+13). Vallabhaneni had four of her team-best eight birdies in her final round, shooting a 75 (+3). Freshman Laura Lupinek finished just four strokes behind Vallabhaneni to finish with a 233 (+17) in her first-ever MAC Championship. 

Isabella Brooks shot a 238 and was followed by junior Jenna Hayes and her 240. Ally Barth rounded out WMU's five competitors with a 247.
