TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Western Michigan throws group had a strong outing at the Gibson Invitational this weekend, headlined by
Tess Van Dyk and
Bri'Yanna Robinson earning top-10 marks in program history.
Van Dyk posted the sixth best shot put mark in program history, notching a throw of 14.77 meters. That was good for fifth in the event. Robinson was right behind her in sixth place with a mark of 14.00 meters.
Lane Hagens was also strong, earning eighth place with a throw of 13.75 meters.
Robinson then led the way in the discus, collecting the eighth best mark in program history. She finished second with a throw of 48.20 meters. Van Dyk finished third in the event with a throw of 42.29 meters. Hagens capped off the day with a mark of 40.04 meters to finish ninth.
