KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Hockey Commissioners Association announced its final monthly awards, with
Tim Washe being honored for his play throughout the months of March and April.
Washe was named the National Player of the Month after producing 15 points on six goals and nine assists. He led the NCHC in points and assists between the months of March and April. He averaged 1.36 points per game, leading WMU to the NCAA National Championship. He registered a point in 10 of the 11 games he played in.
He was a great leader for the Broncos, finishing the 11-game stretch with a +6 rating and two game-winning goals. That brought his total up to eight on the season, which is the program's single-season record. His game-winning goal against UMass in regionals sent the Broncos to their first ever Frozen Four.
Washe finished the season with a career high 38 points. He had 16 goals and 22 assists, while boasting a +22 rating. He also led the NCHC in faceoff win percentage for the third consecutive season. Earlier this week, the Clarkston, Mich. native signed a one-year entry-level contract with the Anaheim Ducks. He made his NHL debut on Tuesday.
Washe and the Broncos had a historic 2024-25 season, winning the program's first ever National Championship. To go along with that, WMU collected an NCAA leading and program-best 34 victories. Western Michigan became just the second team in NCHC history to win both the regular season and tournament titles in the same season.
