Broncos Sit Atop Final National Polls of 2024-25 Season

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan claimed the program's first national championship this past weekend, leading to the team earning the No. 1 ranking in the nation to finish the 2024-25 college hockey season.

The Broncos received every first-place vote and were ranked first in both the USCHO poll and USA Hockey/The Rink Live poll to end the season. WMU finished the year with a program best and NCAA leading 34 victories. The Broncos were one of just two teams to reach 30 wins this season.

NCHC wise, Denver, Arizona State and North Dakota were all ranked, while Omaha and Colorado College were receiving votes. The NCHC had two teams in the top three of the nation to finish the season.

Along with its first national championship, Western Michigan was also able to earn the program's first Penrose Cup and NCHC Frozen Faceoff Championship. The Broncos won 10 straight games to end the season, including six straight against ranked opponents.
