KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team hosts Buffalo on Friday at 12 p.m. for its final home match of the season before heading on the road to take on Mid-American Conference leaders' Miami on Sunday at 12 p.m.Â
LAST WEEK
The Broncos went 0-2 last week, falling to Ball State at home in a tight match, 4-3, before heading on the road to Northern Illinois and dropping a contest 5-2.Â
TOURNAMENT OUTLOOK
Western Michigan will need to finish in the top four in order to make the MAC Tournament, April 24-25 in Toledo. After the losses last week, WMU is 2-5, tied with Eastern MIchigan for sixth. Miami and Northern Illinois have secured their spots in the tournament. The Redhawks are 7-0 heading into Friday and the Huskies are 6-1. Buffalo and Toledo are tied for third with records of 4-3, while Ball State is in fifth with a 3-4 record.Â
SCOUTING THE BULLS
Buffalo is 17-5 overall on the season and have three of its last four. Last weekend, UB split with Miami and Eastern Michigan at home, falling to the RedHawks 4-3 before rebounding with a 5-2 win over the Eagles.Â
Friday is only the eighth match played away from home for the Bulls, who are 3-3 in road games and 1-0 at neutral sites.Â
SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS
Miami started off the season going just 1-8 in non-conference play. It headed into MAC play after a 4-3 loss at the College of Charleston and hasn't lost since. The RedHawks will host Toledo before welcoming the Broncos on Sunday.Â
