KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team heads on the road to take on Mid-American Conference leaders Buffalo on Thursday at 1 p.m. and then Toledo on Saturday at 1 p.m.
LAST WEEK
The Broncos (13-8, 3-2 MAC) had just one match last week, hosting Ball State on Saturday afternoon. WMU bested the Cardinals, 4-3, thanks to the victory by
Oscar Corwin at No. 3 to break the 3-3 tie. Corwin won a three-set match 4-6, 7-6 (13-11), 6-2 and was one of two three-set singles matches the Broncos won that day. WMU also had secured the doubles point.
LOG JAM
It has been one trip through the MAC for the six men's tennis teams and there is quite the log jam in the standings. Buffalo sits at the top of the standings with a 4-1 record. After the Bulls, it is UIC, Western Michigan and Toledo all tied up with 3-2 records. Ball State sits alone in fifth with a 2-3 record, while NIU is winless at 0-5.
ON THE ROAD.... AGAIN
After spending all week on the road, the Broncos will head back out next week when they head to Muncie on Friday to take on Ball State at 1 p.m. After that, Western Michigan closes out the regular season hosting UIC on April 10 and NIU on April 12.
