KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan softball team heads down to Ann Arbor to take on the University of Michigan on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Carol Hutchins Stadium.

The Broncos head into the week after a strong performance at Notre Dame last Wednesday. WMU fell to UND, 2-1, with sophomore
Casey Fazzini pitching her first career complete game. The Santana, Calif., native went 6.0 innings, allowing just five hits and two runs.
Tristen Head was responsible for WMU's lone run, hitting a solo home run in the top of the second inning.
TWO-BAGGERS
Western Michigan has combined to hit 32 doubles in 27 games this season and has hit one in each of the last four games. Only seven times in those 27 games as WMU failed to hit a double.
Caitlin Tighe leads the team with five, while
Riley Dittmar and
Taylor Wolfe each have four. At least six players on the team have hit three or more doubles.
SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES
Michigan heads into Tuesday's game on a five-game winning streak, allowing just five total runs during the streak. The Wolverines are 24-8 overall and have a 4-0 record in conference play. Freshman Lauren Putz leads the team with 10 home runs in 32 games and has a team-best 32 RBIs. Senior Lauren Derkowski has a team-high 101.1 innings pitched, with a 10-5 record, a 1.66 ERA and 10 complete games.

Western Michigan hosts Miami Ohio for its first home series of the season this weekend. First pitch on Friday is set for 3 p.m., with a double-header on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
