KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team hosts Ball State for a match on Saturday at 1 p.m. at West Hills Athletic Club.
The Broncos (12-8, 2-2 MAC) were on the road last week at UIC and Northern Illinois and split the games. WMU fell to the Flames, 5-2, and rebounded against the Huskies with a 6-1 victory. Saturday's match marks WMU's first complete trip through MAC play, with WMU heading to Buffalo next Thursday to take on the Bulls.Â
The Cardinals (9-6, 2-2) are tied with the Broncos in the MAC standings. Like WMU, BSU's MAC losses have come against Buffalo and UIC. Ball State has also struggled on the road with a 2-4 record.
WELCOME BACK
Western Michigan welcomes back WMU Men's Tennis Alum Peter Kuszynski, who played at WMU from 2018-23. He helped the Broncos win MAC Regular Season Championships in 2019, '21, '22, and '23 and MAC Tournament Championships in 2018, '21 and '22. He was twice named to the All-MAC Second Team and was a First Team All-MAC selection in 2022 and 2021. Kuszynski was also the MAC Newcomer of the Year in 2019. Kuszynski left WMU with 207 total wins in his career, ranked sixth all-time in program history.Â
ON THE HORIZON
WMU makes is second trip through the MAC next week, heading to Buffalo on Thursday and then on to Toledo on Saturday.Â
