YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Western Michigan track and field team finished 12th at the Indoor MAC Championships. The Broncos collected 22 points over the two-day event.
WMU opened the day with a bang, as the shot put group added nine points to the board.
Bri'Yanna Robinson,
Tess Van Dyk and
Lane Hagens all scored, finishing third, seventh and eighth, respectively.
Following that,
Anichka Malachi was just off the scoring line in the triple jump. She had a top leap of 11.87 meters.
Lily Overton got more points on the board in the mile, as she finished seventh. She recorded a time of 4:55.68.
The scoring continued in the next event, as
Angel Pratt finished eighth in the 400-meter dash. She had a time of 56.75. More points were added in the 60-meter dash, with
Sandra Ferrari earning eighth place. She registered a finishing time of 7.77.
To close out the day,
Lillian Zelasko, Overton and
Lauren Sancrant produced strong results in the 3K. Zelasko had a time of 9:54.96, Overton finished in 10:04.54 and Sancrant earned a time of 10:38.02.
