CLEVELAND -- The Western Michigan women's tennis duo of freshmen
Sienna Osborne and
Frida Weijerman have been named the Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week.
Osborne and Weijerman went 2-0 on the weekend as the Broncos split Valparaiso and Michigan State. In the match win over the Beacons, the pair secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 2 over Valpo's Brynn Steven and Lacey Tanner. They then helped the Broncos clinch the doubles point in the 4-1 loss at MSU. Once again they were the deciding factor, picking up a 6-4 win over the Spartans' Natalie Stasny and Issey Purser.
The Broncos are off this weekend before returning to action at home next Saturday against Youngstown State and Sunday against Cleveland State. Both matches are at 11 a.m.
