ON THE ROAD AGAIN
Western Michigan continues its stretch of 14 consecutive games away from home to start the 2025 campaign this weekend with a three-game set at Georgia Tech.

LAST TIME OUT
The Broncos are coming off of a three-game sweep at the hands of Louisville last weekend. After dropping Saturday's series opener, 14-3, WMU trailed by one heading into the bottom of the seventh inning on Sunday before the Cardinals used a four-run seventh to pull away, 7-2. The two teams went back and forth in the early stages of Monday's series finale, but Louisville created a gap in the middle innings to close out the set with a 10-4 win.

POWER SCHEDULING
After playing 12 games against Power Conference foes in 2024, the Broncos loaded up their non-conference slate with 13 more contests against Power Conference teams this year, including seven against members of the ACC. In addition to this weekend's series at Georgia Tech, Western Michigan is slated to play a total of four games against Michigan State, had a three-game set at Louisville, and will play single games against Michigan, Northwestern and Notre Dame during its non-conference schedule.

SERIES HISTORY
Western Michigan and Georgia Tech have played four times prior to this weekend's three-game set, with the Yellow Jackets having taken all four of those meetings. The two teams have not matched up since meeting in Atlanta in back-to-back seasons in 2016 and 2017. WMU's last win over an ACC opponent was a 12-2 victory at Notre Dame back on April 10, 2019.

TANNER AT THE TOP
Through the first two weeks of the season, Tanner Mally has flourished in the leadoff spot for the Broncos. The sophomore has put together four multi-hit games and sits atop the MAC in hits (14), batting average (.583) and on-base percentage (.667). Mally's .583 batting average ranks third in NCAA Division I, while his on-base percentage is the ninth-best nationally. He is also one off of the league lead with four hit by pitches and is pacing Western Michigan in both runs scored (6) and stolen bases (3).

THE WIZ KID
After throwing 5.0 shutout frames against Michigan State during Opening Weekend, junior left-hander Joey Wizceb turned in another solid outing for the Broncos last weekend at Louisville. The lefty went a career-high 6.1 innings, the longest outing by a WMU starter so far this season, and held the Cardinals to four runs on six hits.  Through his first
two starts for the Brown and Gold, Wizceb ranks third in the conference with 11.1 innings pitched, and is not too far outside of the league's top-10 in ERA (3.18) and opposing batting average (.250).

DYLAN'S DAMAGE
After setting a single-season school record by driving in a conference-leading 71 runs in 2024, Dylan Nevar got the new season started with three RBIs during Opening Weekend against Michigan State and Dayton. With 163 career RBIs, he is 11 away from tying former Bronco and Major Leaguer Matt Mieske's record of 174, amassed between 1987-90. Nevar is also closing in on 200 career hits, as he enters the weekend with 193 career knocks.

LOOK AT MEE
Grady Mee had a solid series last weekend at Louisville for the Broncos, going 4-for-11 (.364) with a couple of runs scored and a pair of RBIs. The junior also swiped a base and played strong defense, making a few sparkling plays and fielding all 16 of his defensive chances at second and third base without making an error.

WELCOME BACK LEHMANN
After being limited to just one appearance as a true freshman due to injury, right-hander Adam Lehmann has started off his 2025 with a couple of strong relief appearances. The Granger, Ind., native opened the campaign with a pair of scoreless innings and a career-high three strikeouts against MSU, and followed that up with another scoreless outing last weekend at Louisville.
