ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Sandra Ferrari,
Anichka Malachi and
Lily Overton produced top-10 marks in program history on Friday afternoon at the GVSU Big Meet.
Ferrari was excellent in the 60-meter hurdles, winning the event with a time of 8.38. That time was good for second in program history. She also competed in the 60-meter dash, just missing a top-10 mark in program history. She finished with a time of 7.64.
Jade Celestine also competed in the 60-meter hurdles, earning a PR time of 9.00.
Malachi was great in the triple jump and long jump. In the triple jump, she moved to ninth in program history with a leap of 11.94 meters. In the long jump, she was able to register a mark of 5.38 meters.
Mimi Joseph also took part in the long jump, recording a mark of 4.91 meters.
Lily Overton was the final athlete to crack the record book, as she tallied a time of 9:41.37 in the 3,000-meter run. That puts her ninth in school history.
Lillian Zelasko,
Lauren Sancrant,
Brooke Soper,
Larissa McGrath and
Grace Aurand also competed in the event. Zelasko had a season-best time of 9:49.24, while Sancrant crossed the finish line in a PR time of 10:08.22. Soper was then able to post a season-best time of 10:17.10. To round out the event, Mcgrath and Aurand had PR times of 10:20.58 and 10:29.62, respectively.
Angel Pratt recorded a pair of PR times in the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash. She had a time of 24.95 in the 200 meter and a time of 56.24 in the 400 meter.
Layla Wallace also raced in the 400-meter dash, collecting season-best time of 1:01.28.
The 800-meter run saw a pair of PR's for the Broncos, as
Ava Kurczewski posted a time of 2:14.00.
Lara Machado Pereira also had a PR with a time of 2:18.96.
Rebekah Asselin was strong as well, recording a time of 2:22.37.
Sticking with distance, the mile crew was on top of their game.
Madison Zarembski paced the team with a time of 5:10.33.
Madison Clor then had a season-best time of 5:11.46. To round out the lineup,
CJ Nixon had a PR time of 5:11.93. Closing out the distance events was
Shannon Gillahan, who posted a time of 19:22.72 in the 5,000-meter run.
The throws team had a great day, earning three top-five finishes in the shot put.
Bri'Yanna Robinson had a season-best throw of 15.14 meters, while
Tess Van Dyk posted a mark of 14.55 meters.
Lane Hagens had a huge PR of 14.00 meters.
Kennedy Hagens then recorded strong results in the weight throw, posting a mark of 15.66 meters.
