Lewis Robinson Signs Contract Extension

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- Western Michigan Athletics and Vice President/Director of Athletics Dan Bartholomae are excited to announce that women's soccer head coach Lewis Robinson has agreed to a contract extension. The extension runs through the 2030 season.

"In an incredibly short period of time, Lewis has transformed our women's soccer program into a national competitor," Bartholomae said. "His record is not only unprecedented at Western Michigan, but also in the Mid-American Conference as the only program to post back-to-back undefeated regular seasons. He has also shown he can compete amongst the nations' best with results against some of the country's finest. More importantly, Lewis' teams have helped lead our recent record breaking GPA and community service efforts, and Lewis is looked to as a trusted leader and mentor amongst our coaches and staff. I am thrilled to have him as our coach for many more years."

Robinson has transformed the program into a consistent winner, leading the program to back-to-back Regular Season MAC Championships. Along with that, WMU hasn't lost a regular season conference game over the last two seasons and collected its first MAC Tournament Title since 2015. In 2024, Robinson guided the program to its first NCAA Tournament appearance in nearly 10 years.

With the Broncos, Robinson has recorded 30 wins, including 21 in MAC play. In just three years, Robinson has the third most wins by a head coach in program history. Mike Haines holds the program record with 89 victories across 11 seasons in Kalamazoo. Robinson spent multiple years with Aquinas College before manning the Bronco sideline. He picked up his 100th career win on Oct. 10, 2024 in a 4-0 victory over Bowling Green.

In his time as head coach, Western Michigan has produced one All-American, 12 All-MAC honorees and four All-Region performers. In the classroom, Robinson has seen the program produce back-to-back CSC Academic All-Americans to go along with 15 CSC Academic All-District selections.

"I am incredibly grateful to our Athletic Director Dan Bartholomae and the WMU administration for the continued trust and support in the vision of our program," Robinson said. "I am honored to continue leading this program and excited for the future as we strive for even greater success. Thank you to all of the elite student athletes and staff who have played a role in making this possible and continue to work to raise the standards in our Bronco Soccer program."
