KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan graduate student goaltender
Cameron Rowe was named a Mike Richter Award semifinalist on Thursday afternoon.
The Hockey Commissioner's Association gives the award to the nation's top goaltender each year. The award was first handed out in 2014. Rowe was joined on the 10-player list by Trey Augustine (Michigan State), Albin Boija (Maine), Matt Davis (Denver), Jacob Fowler (Boston College), Thomas Gale (Holy Cross), Josh Kotai (Augustana), Simon Latkoczy (Omaha), Alex Tracy (Minnesota State) and Lawton Zacher (Brown).
Rowe has been excellent throughout the 2024-25 season, boasting a 14-1-0 record to go along with a 1.73 goals against average and .934 save percentage. He leads the nation in win percentage and is top seven in the NCAA in both GAA and save percentage. The Wilmette, Ill. native is also the NCAA's active career wins leader with 68 victories.
Western Michigan has never had a Richter Award winner and the NCHC has had just two winners since the award was introduced. The NCHC leads this year's field with three semifinalists. Rowe is currently second in the NCHC in both GAA and save percentage.
Rowe and the Broncos host Omaha this weekend, with Friday night's series opener set for 7 PM EST. For tickets, visit WMUBroncos.com/Tickets.
