Whitelaw Named NCHC Forward of the Week

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The National Collegiate Hockey Conference announced its weekly award winners, with junior William Whitelaw earning the league's Forward of the Week honor.

Whitelaw was sensational in the Broncos' weekend series against No. 4 Minnesota Duluth, posting two goals, one game-winning goal, seven shots on goal and a +2 rating.

Whitelaw had both of his tallies in Saturday's win, scoring in the second period to tie the game at 1-1. The breakaway tally was his eighth of the season. He wasn't done there, as the Minnesota native would go on to win the game for the Brown and Gold in overtime. Going coast-to-coast, he beat UMD goaltender Adam Gajan with under two minutes to play in the extra session to give WMU its 10th win of the season.

The Columbus Blue Jackets draft pick is now up to 15 points on nine goals and six assists. He leads the team in both points and goals so far this season. He is now just three points back from his career high set last season.

Whitelaw and the Broncos will be back in action on Dec. 28 against Boston College in the Kwik Trip Holiday Faceoff. Game times are still TBD.
