WELCOME HOME
Western Michigan returns to University Arena on Sunday afternoon to take on Mount St. Mary's. It is one of just two games for the Brown and Gold over a stretch of a little more than a month.

LAST TIME OUT
The Broncos are coming off of a 91-58 loss to Ohio State down in Columbus on Thursday night. Brady Swartz led Western Michigan in both points (20) and rebounds (9) for the evening, while Jayden Brewer was also in double-figures with 12 points.

SIZZLIN' SWARTZ
Freshman Brady Swartz got hot from long range for the second time in the last three games on Thursday, hitting four triples on the way to tying his career high with 20 points. The Grand Rapids, Mich., native paced the Brown and Gold on the glass as well with a career-high nine rebounds. Swartz is now shooting 53.3 percent from the field this season, and is hitting three-pointers at a 55.6 percent clip, which has him tied for the ninth-best, three-point percentage in the conference.

LET JAYDEN BREW
Jayden Brewer tallied 12 points on Thursday night against Ohio State, putting him in double-figures for the fourth time in WMU's first six games. The FIU transfer is one of a handful of players in the conference to rank in the top-10 in both scoring and rebounding so far this season, ranking seventh in scoring at 16.3 points per game and tied for fifth in rebounding at 8.3 per contest.

BURTON ON THE BOARDS
After ranking among the league leaders with 5.8 rebounds per game a season ago, Max Burton has bumped his average up to 6.8 in the early stages of this season. The redshirt junior has collected at least nine rebounds three times already this year and secured 10 on Sunday at South Dakota to register his first double-double of the season and second of his collegiate career. Burton's 6.8 rebounds are tied for 10th in the MAC.

CLEANING THE GLASS
Always a good rebounding team under head coach Dwayne Stephens, WMU has started off strong on the glass once again, winning the rebounding battle in five of its first six games. Western Michigan comes into Sunday tied for second in the conference in overall rebounding at 40.0 per game, led by the duo of Jayden Brewer and Max Burton. Brewer (8.3, T-5) and Burton (6.8, 10th) are one of two pairs of teammates around the conference to both rank in the top-10 of the league in rebounding.

DIALING LONG DISTANCE
WMU enters Sunday having made at least one three-pointer in 461 straight games, dating back to the 2010-11 season. Brady Swartz has been the leading sharpshooter for the Broncos, making 10 so far this season and hitting at a rate of 55.6 percent.

BRONCOS VS THE MAAC
Western Michigan is facing a team from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Association for the second consecutive season on Sunday, having dispatched Canisius, 92-69, last year at University Arena. The Broncos have won their last two against MAAC foes, having won at Manhattan, 59-58, on Dec. 14, 2019.

SERIES HISTORY
Sunday's game marks just the second all-time meeting between Western Michigan and Mount St. Mary's. The only prior matchup between the Broncos and the Mountaineers also came in Kalamazoo, with the Brown and Gold claiming an 87-66 victory back on Dec. 22, 2012.

SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
Mount St. Mary's enters Sunday's contest at 1-4 after losing a heartbreaker in overtime at Maryland on Wednesday. It will be the fifth road game already for the Mountaineers, and Sunday marks the fourth game of a five-game road trip. Four players are averaging double-figures for the Mount, led by Arlandus Keyes (13.0 PPG), who tallied a career-high 22 points on Wednesday at Maryland. Mount St. Mary's was picked to finish ninth in the 13-team MAAC in the league's annual preseason coaches poll.

THE ROAD AHEAD
Western Michigan heads right back out on the road next weekend with a visit to Valparaiso on Saturday afternoon.
