Broncos Move Up in Latest National Polls

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Thanks to sweeping Miami over the weekend, the Western Michigan hockey team was able to rise in the latest national polls.

The Broncos moved up one spot in each poll, slotting in at No. 7 in the USA Hockey rankings and No. 8 in the USCHO poll. Michigan State, Michigan, Denver, Minnesota Duluth and Penn State made up the top five in both sets of rankings.

NCHC wise, WMU was joined by DU, UMD and North Dakota. Colorado College, Omaha, Miami, St. Cloud State and Arizona State were all receiving votes, helping the conference have all nine teams featured in the rankings.

The Brown and Gold will hit the road for a series against RV Omaha this weekend. The Broncos won all four meetings last season. The two teams will open the series on Friday at Baxter Arena. Puck drop is set for 8 PM ET.
