KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan held its spot in the national polls after sweeping Alaska Anchorage this past weekend. The sweep pushed WMU's overall record to 13-4-1.
The Broncos checked in at No. 4 in the USCHO poll and were ranked fifth in the USA Hockey/The Rink Live poll. WMU has been ranked in every poll since Oct. 11, 2021.
Joining the Brown and Gold in the national rankings were Denver, St. Cloud State, Colorado College, North Dakota and Arizona State. The NCHC was one of two conferences with six teams ranked this week.
The Broncos are off this week and will return to action on Jan. 17-18 at North Dakota. Puck drop for Friday night's series opener is set for 8 PM ET. Western Michigan is currently atop the NCHC standings with a 6-1-1 conference record.
