Men's Tennis Hosts Double Header on Friday Before Heading to No. 23 Michigan State

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team opens with a double-header at home on Friday before heading to Michigan State to take on the 23rd-ranked Spartans on Sunday. 
 
WMU (1-1) kicks off the weekend hosting Marquette (0-0) at 10 a.m. and then welcoming Ferris State (0-0) to West Hills Athletic Club at 6 p.m. Admission is free. First serve on Sunday in East Lansing is 5 p.m.  
 
LAST WEEK 
Western Michigan opened the 2024 Spring Season down the road at Notre Dame. WMU first took on Duquesne, downing the Dukes 7-0 to pick up the first win of the season. The Broncos then took on the Fighting Irish, but fell 6-1.  
 
DOUBLE THE FUN 
This Friday is the first of four home double-headers for the Broncos this season. Next Friday, WMU plays a pair of matches against Grand Valley State. On Friday, Feb. 21 they host Butler and Purdue Northwest and then two days later host Eastern Illinois and Wayne State.  
 
PROTECT THIS HOUSE 
Sorensen Courts and West Hills Athletic Club have been tough places to play for WMU's opponents. The Broncos were 9-1 last season, 8-3 in 2023 and 10-0 in 2022. Dating back to 2014, Western Michigan is a staggering 119-14, a winning percentage of 89.47. 
 
ON THE HORIZON 
Next weekend the Broncos just have the double-header against Grand Valley State and then end the month of January at Wisconsin to battle against the Badgers and Drake.
