KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team opens with a double-header at home on Friday before heading to Michigan State to take on the 23rd-ranked Spartans on Sunday.Â

WMU (1-1) kicks off the weekend hosting Marquette (0-0) at 10 a.m. and then welcoming Ferris State (0-0) to West Hills Athletic Club at 6 p.m. Admission is free. First serve on Sunday in East Lansing is 5 p.m. Â

LAST WEEKÂ
Western Michigan opened the 2024 Spring Season down the road at Notre Dame. WMU first took on Duquesne, downing the Dukes 7-0 to pick up the first win of the season. The Broncos then took on the Fighting Irish, but fell 6-1. Â

DOUBLE THE FUNÂ
This Friday is the first of four home double-headers for the Broncos this season. Next Friday, WMU plays a pair of matches against Grand Valley State. On Friday, Feb. 21 they host Butler and Purdue Northwest and then two days later host Eastern Illinois and Wayne State. Â

PROTECT THIS HOUSEÂ
Sorensen Courts and West Hills Athletic Club have been tough places to play for WMU's opponents. The Broncos were 9-1 last season, 8-3Â in 2023 and 10-0 in 2022. Dating back to 2014, Western Michigan is a staggering 119-14, a winning percentage of 89.47.Â

ON THE HORIZONÂ
Next weekend the Broncos just have the double-header against Grand Valley State and then end the month of January at Wisconsin to battle against the Badgers and Drake. Â
