Last Time Out

The Brown and Gold continued its impressive start to the 2024 campaign by securing their second top-10 victory in four games after a 1-0 win over #9 Northwestern at WMU Soccer Complex Friday.  In the win, Carson Hodgson supplied the game-winning goal in the 47th minute of the contest by assisting team captain Landon Fisher. To begin 2024, the men's soccer team has outscored opponents at an impressive 11:3 ratio through the team's first five games. Last season, WMU had outscored opponents 9:5 through the same span in 2023.

Scouting The Falcons

Air Force enters Sunday's match with a record of 0-3-1. Despite their winless record, the Falcons registered all three defeats by one goal during their first four games of the season. To begin the 2024 campaign, Air Force lost a close battle to #10 Southern Methodist University on the road 1-0, and followed with back-to-back 2-1 home defeats to Army and Washington. The Falcons managed to snap their losing streak after tying Michigan State University 1-1 on Friday in East Lansing.

In the final third of the field, the Falcons are led by senior Nick Bisagno, junior Ridge Owen, and sophomore Logan Zaa. The trio has combined for all three of Air Force's goals this season.

WMU's Unbeaten Streak

The Brown and Gold's win marked the program's astonishing 26th consecutive game without a loss. WMU's run began on August 27, 2023, with a 3-1 road victory over Utah Valley University, and ever since, the team has not looked back. In addition to their unbeaten streak, the WMU men's soccer team continued its year-by-year dominance at home with a 14th victory in 16 matches at WMU Soccer Complex. Dating back to March 14, 2020, the Broncos have boasted a record of 29-2-5 in Kalamazoo.

Series History

The two programs will meet for the second time Sunday. Last year, in their inaugural match on Thursday, August 31, WMU alumni Charlie Sharp scored the lone goal of the contest in only 65 seconds.
