KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The awards keep rolling in for
Jen Blitchok, as she was named the Mid-American Conference's Female Scholar Athlete of the Week, the league announced this afternoon. Along with this award, Blitchok has earned MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors and Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week recognition.
The Grandville, Mich. native had a tremendous week on the pitch, tallying seven points on three goals and one assist. She did all of her work against Miami in a 6-0 win over the RedHawks on Sunday afternoon. In the game, Blitchok earned her first career hat trick while adding an assist on another goal.
Her seven points against Miami were the most in a single game in the MAC this season. She currently leads the conference in points (22) and goals (10) and is just three tallies off of the national leader. Additionally, Blitchok sits just two goals away from tying and three away from breaking the program's single-season record.
Blitchok and the Broncos will take on Buffalo on Thursday, September 26. WMU and Buffalo are both undefeated in conference play this season. The game is set for 4 PM at the WMU Soccer Complex.
